Trauma-informed counseling

You can feel safer in the present, even after what happened.

Trauma can continue to affect your body, thoughts, relationships, and sense of safety long after an event is over. You may experience flashbacks, avoidance, hypervigilance, shame, emotional numbness, or a feeling of being stuck in the past. Your response makes sense, and support is available.

A pace that respects your safety

Trauma counseling does not require you to share everything before you are ready. Your counselor will focus first on trust, stabilization, and practical ways to feel more grounded. Together, you decide what to explore and what healing looks like for you.

Approaches that may help

Depending on your needs and goals, counseling may include trauma-informed CBT, grounding and regulation skills, or EMDR when clinically appropriate and provided by a trained counselor. The goal is not to erase your story. It is to help the memories and reactions feel less in control of your life.
