Counseling for substance use

You deserve support that sees the whole person, not just the problem.

Substance use can become a way to cope with pain, stress, trauma, loneliness, or emotions that feel too heavy. You may be worried about your use, feeling pressure from people you love, or trying to make a change while carrying shame. A non-judgmental conversation is a meaningful place to begin.

Change does not have to start with perfection

Counseling can help you understand what your substance use is doing for you, what makes change difficult, and what support you need. You can talk honestly about goals that range from reducing harm to pursuing recovery. Your counselor will collaborate with you rather than make assumptions about your path.

Building support for the next step

Sessions may focus on triggers, coping skills, motivation, relationships, boundaries, relapse prevention, and connecting with additional resources when needed. If you need a higher level of care or medical support, your counselor can help you think through appropriate referrals.
